dc.description.abstractThis study was about private Hostels and their effect on students' Discipline in secondary schools in Mbale district, taking a case study of Mbale Municipality. The status of private hostels is exigent enough to arouse intellectual curiosity. It has not yet received adequate scholarly attention though, since it's a new phenomenon. The study was carried out as result of an out cry from the stakeholders of education about discipline in Mbale district and over the type of control mechanism being employed by hostel owners and managers which yield inappropriate discipline amongst secondary school students who reside in their hostels. It's on the basis of this background that makes it an interesting and wanting area of research prompted to undertake and study the effect of private hostels on student's.en_US
