dc.description.abstractDISSERTATION: This study investigated the relationship between teacher job satisfaction and pupils’ academic performance in primary schools in Jinja district. Two null hypotheses were tested:- 1. There is a relationship between teacher job satisfaction and teachers delivery of services in primary schools. 2. There is a relationship between teacher financial rewards and academic performance in schools. The researcher employed a case study research design and a total of 143 teachers and head teachers participated in the study, through questionnaires. Frequency distributions of the respondents indicating the level of usefulness for each job satisfier was done in the process of testing the two null hypotheses. The Chi-square test was used to test the two hypotheses. The first null hypothesis was retained because the Chi-square test results were found to be significant at the level of 0.05. The second null hypothesis was rejected because the results of the chi-square were found to be insignificant at the level of 0.05. The study recommended a dire need for the Ministry of Education and Sports to put in place and strengthen the job satisfiers that enhance pupils’ academic performance.en_US
